I have worked at Horndale Infant and Nursery School for 20 years and I am passionate about providing our children with the best possible education, so each child has the opportunity to reach their true potential.

I have taught in every year group in school from Nursery to Year 2. I am currently based in Nursery, working with our youngest children to foster a love of learning; through exploration, fun and challenge, providing a safe place where all children are welcomed, valued and supported to achieve the very best start.

At home, I am also a mother of two school aged children, so I fully understand the importance of not only good quality education but also the importance of building parental links and providing opportunities for our children to excel both academically and socially. I have a particular interest in pupil and staff wellbeing and believe that developing a love for the outdoors has a huge impact on this wellbeing. Hence while not working I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, whether it be enjoying a walk in the countryside or exploring new places while on a city break or holiday.

I am excited about my role of staff governor as I feel it will provide me with further opportunity to work alongside staff, families, our community and other governors to ensure our pupils receive a curriculum that is both enriching and inspiring. Being able to vote on strategic decisions which will have a positive impact on the children and staff at our school.

I sought to become a school governor as I feel I have the experience, skills, and desire to make a positive impact on the continuing success of the school. I am looking forward to the challenge of further developing and improving the school for the benefit of the children and gaining a greater understanding of how the school works.
